What is the modern art today? This is a complex response. Everyone has their own views on it. For me it’s a combination of different perspectives and new approaches to art making. In my works, I try to reflect problems to which I cannot stay indifferent. But the main thought of my message is to show the relevance of modern world. One of such messages, an installation “UTILITARIAN CAPTURE”, I made in Kiev in June 2018. I was a part of KAMA alumni of the Contemporary Art Department and there was an exhibition, dedicated to the students’ graduation, which took place in the Gallery of Educatorium. The exhibition of young artists coincided with the spirit of the gallery. That inspired me to create a live installation, where my works will naturally highlight the urban rhythm and the traditions of the city parks and squares. The installations “UTILITARIAN CAPTURE” continued in the nearest park, where I have created a new project" Utilitarian capture " - a large-scale installation of black plastic boxes, which consists of more than 4000 boxes. This composition was built on the interaction between the trees and the surrounding fence of the district, my approach was to turn the depressive space of the dying public garden into a strategic resource. I choose the material which easily allows me to save a spontaneous approach in the installation. The black geometric designs are arguing with the scenery and complement it. Trivial and artistic, private and public, beautiful and ugly, unique and mass-market: I invite you to reflect on that. The realization of this present situation makes us live enjoying every moment. It makes us value our existence.
